CHRISTIAN SOCIABILITY.—

This is a great want in all our churches. Few are aware how many individuals and families are lost to our churches, or whose usefulness is almost wholly lost through neglect of that Christian sympathy and friendliness which is enjoined upon believers by precept and example in the word of God. Instead of the communion of saints, we have the strangerhood of believers. Where there should be Christian recognition, and hearty welcomes, and invitations to fellowship, in that society where benevolence rules, too often there is a cold indifference, very difficult to break through in order to reach the church’s heart.
