Glory.

MEN gather wealth, seek for fame, struggle for honor, and call the result glory. The mind of man, however, can but vaguely comprehend the wealth of meaning, the brightness and splendor covered by the word. It embraces not only the “glory of the kingdoms of this world,” but also the glory of the world to come. God has often given his saints glimpses of its true meaning.
The high priests anciently were solemnly impressed with the glory of the Most High. Those who beheld the baptism, transfiguration and ascension of Christ saw glorious things. John the Revelator beheld visions of surpassing loveliness and glory; but the “glory yet to be revealed” will far exceed everything in the past. When the Son of man comes in his glory then the “wise shall inherit glory” and realize in the fullest sense the dazzling splendor, beauty and loveliness of God’s glory.
