North Pacific Mission.

We began meetings in the tent at Dallas, the county seat of Polk Co., Oregon, on Friday evening, May 18. To this date, the 28th, we have given thirteen discourses. The average attendance has been about seventy-five. There are only about one hundred families in the town. The weather has been cold and rainy all the time, making it very disagreeable for people to be out, yet they have attended well.
From the very first, interest has been manifested and is increasing. Yesterday was a good day with us. We held three services in the tent with over one hundred in attendance each time. The people are becoming friendly and many of them much interested.
We hope for good results. We pray daily for the success of the truth. The Lord is giving us the ears of the people, and we want their hearts too. There are four denominations represented in the town. We hope to make the truth so plain that the people will have that high regard for it that they will heartily embrace it.
The cause of truth is gaining strength in this valley, and we hear good reports from Walla Walla. May God bless the efforts made the present season to advance the work, and may good results be seen. I. D. VAN HORN.
