COMMENCED meetings here May 4. Nine lectures have been given thus far, to audiences averaging about one hundred and thirty. A fair interest is manifested to hear the truth.
Each Sabbath the brethren come in from Udell, Elmira, and Binghamton, to worship in the tent. These brethren have been of great service in helping pitch the tent, and in furnishing provisions. May the Lord reward them in his kingdom. Yesterday, after preaching, we enjoyed a good social meeting. Several outsiders were present.
Sabbath and first-day, May 5 and 6, the south wind blew such a gale that the tent had to be taken down both days. A few repairs were necessary.
Dixon is a town of one thousand inhabitants, having five churches, nineteen saloons, and five hotels. The German element is quite strong.
Pray for the cause here.
