The Biblical Institute.

In the month of April last, Elder Uriah Smith gave a course of Biblical Lectures before a class of about fifty in this city. The lecturer took a brief survey of subjects, guarded well all critical points, put questions to the class upon the previous lecture, and answered questions presented in writing. This work usually occupied an hour. Two or more lectures were given each day. This kept the class hard at work. Thus sixteen days were profitably and very agreeably spent by Elder Smith and his class at Oakland, Cal.
By request, Elder Smith is writing out his lectures for the SIGNS OF THE TIMES, that its numerous readers may have the benefit of them. Two are given this week on page 138. One page, more or less, of the SIGNS will be occupied with this important matter each week for several months. T. and M. workers will want large packages of the SIGNS for the next six months at least, commencing with this issue, as the paper will possess unparalleled interest from this time on.
