Fresno and Tulare Counties.
By J. H. Waggoner
AFTER the time of my last report from Fresno county, I went to Tulare county, near Visalia. I was much disappointed in the prospect, the interest there not being at all what I had expected. A few are holding on there, and I labored for their benefit, and, if possible, to add to their numbers. I trust the labor was not lost, though I did not see all accomplished that I hoped for. Bro. Eagle is doing all he can to help others, and to keep up the interest of the cause there. Returning to Fresno, I remained a few days and held meetings and visited until the 28th. The cause is still progressing there. Brother Wood is now laboring at Lakeside, a farming community, in what is called the “Mussel Slough” country. He commenced the evening of the 23rd. The school-house is large, and the first night over forty were in attendance, and the congregations increased every meeting up to the time of his writing, the 27th. He is of good courage, and he has the prayers of many friends for his success.
