THE Way of Life from Paradise Lost to Paradise Restored is the general caption we have chosen for those subjects which show the work of the law and the gospel in the execution of the plan of redemption, and the relation which the Father and the Son, and the law and the gospel sustain to each other. Our first paper upon this theme is on the second page of this issue. May the same consciousness of the presence of the Spirit of truth be enjoyed by the reader that has been with the writer as he has traced the lines which constitute the second page of this paper.
We urge not only a careful reading of the thoughts which may appear under this caption, but that they may be carefully and critically studied. We shall take no part in a spirit of strife for the mastery, should it arise with those who differ; but we shall be very happy to receive and answer inquiries if put in the spirit of candor, provided they are strictly confined to propositions set forth by us.
