This is the name of a small place on the C. P. R. R., eighteen miles south of Fresno City in Fresno Co., which contains six or seven dwelling houses, two hotels, three small stores, one blacksmith's shop, one livery stable, and a good school-house for this country.
I came here Oct. 23, and after getting permission of the trustees to occupy the school-house, Bro. Church took his team and we spent nearly a day going from house to house in the surrounding country, leaving notices of the meetings. As the result, about twenty-five came out the first night, and the audience has since increased to about fifty.
Up to this date I have given ten discourses. There seems to be some interest. I have sold a few books and given away quite a number of tracts. Am very grateful for the assistance received from the friends here, and for the kindness of Bro. George Church in furnishing me a home while here. May the Lord bless him and his companion, and may their reward be everlasting life.
Last Sabbath I met with the church in Fairview. Two more signed the covenant, and quite a number are desiring the return of Bro. Loughborough that they may go forward in the ordinance of baptism. Brethren, pray for the cause in Fresno Co. J. L. WOOD. November 3, 1876.
