Incident in Chili.—

There was a Chilian woman in the city of Conception, in South America, who came to hear Mr. Roe, the missionary, preach. At the close of the service she told the missionary that “some years ago her son was a sailor on board a steamer, where he became possessed of a Spanish Bible that was about to be thrown away. He was deeply interested in the book, and in course of time took it home. His eldest sister took to reading it, and became converted. Then she gave up the mass and the confessor. After a time the whole family were converted through the instrumentality of the Bible alone. One of the daughters married and her husband was converted; so that in a short time ten adults and some children were brought to the truth without any human instrumentality.”
