Meeting-House in Oakland.

By the assistance of Bro. White, the Oakland church have secured a building site at a cost of $4,000, in a desirable situation, and the work of building a house of worship has already commenced. At a meeting of the church on the evening of the 23d inst., Bro. O. B. Jones was requested by a unanimous vote to take charge of the work. A good spirit prevailed in this meeting which gives assurance of union and consequent success in the enterprise. A vote was passed that Bro. Jones shall have entire charge and management of the job.
Bro. Jones did not expect to remain in California this summer, and therefore hesitated to comply with the request, but consented to engage in it and carry it forward as far as possible while he remains. It is strongly hoped that he may remain to its completion.
What is requisite to perfect success is perfect union and consecration to the cause, so that the blessing of God may be with us.
J. H. WAGGONER.
