Testimony for the Church.
By R. F. Cottrell
I HAVE read this work with deep interest; and though my recommendation can add nothing to its value and importance, I feel it a privilege to commend it to the prayerful reading and devout consideration of all. If any are not fully established in the faith of the Heavenly origin of these instructions, let them read the first three chapters of this pamphlet, and, closing out prejudice and external things, look awhile alone upon the internal evidence concerning the origin of such communications. Their harmony with all that is good, and their opposition to all that is evil, are clearly manifest; and this is not all, while all that is said is said in the simplicity of truth, and its verity is obvious to all when expressed, there seems to be something superhuman in the force of expression—an evidence of the presence of the Spirit of God. May the church for whom they are designed as a benefit not fail to be benefited.
