WHILE so many are convassing the merits and demerits of General Butler, now Governor of Massachusetts, we wish to put on record one thing to his credit: he has been the means of breaking up the silly habit of Harvard of giving the title of “LL.D.,” to all the Governors of that State, which it has done without regard to their knowledge or ignorance of laws. We hope the break-up is complete.
