Defending the Christian Faith

EVERY variety of blasphemy and folly has its apostles. Every negation, however audacious and desolating, has its defenders on the platform and in the press. Every superstition has its partisans and devotees. Moral and intellectual error stalks everywhere around us, now gently insinuating, now loudly advertising itself. Is the religion which our Lord has brought from Heaven alone to be without advocates and defenders? Are Christians to be the only people who so weigh and mince their words, who are so very fearful of saying too much, and of being too enthusiastic, that they say little or say nothing in their Master's cause?
—Canon Liddon.
