Religious Legislation Puts Man Above God

All religious legislation assumes that man is above God. If Sunday keepers establish Sunday, by civil law, for the Sabbath, and God accepts their act, and later the Jews come into power, and change the day of rest to the seventh day of the week, then, according to the Lord’s own precedent, He would be obliged to accept the work of the party in power. And if the Mohammedans should sometime rule the country, and place Friday, their day of rest, in the law of the land, God would be obliged to change His law again. God makes laws for man, and not man for God.
