Our Lawgiver and Judge

“For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King; He will save us.” Isa. 33:22.

Since the Lord is our Lawgiver, and our Judge as well, what standard of righteousness will He be sure to use in the Judgment? Will it not be that law which He spoke with His own voice on Sinai, and then engraved with His finger on tables of stone?

Then our only safety is in accepting that law as our standard of right and wrong, and conforming our lives to it. We should not adopt any change that man has sought to make in the law of God; for this same Lord who is our Lawgiver and our Judge, is also our King and our Saviour. But it would be presumption to expect Him to save us in His kingdom, if we are not loyal and obedient to Him here. Mrs. Iva F. Cady.
