The Heart Opened by God

By G. B. T.

Of Lydia of Thyatira it is said that the Lord opened her heart. There is no other one who can open hard, rebellious, stony hearts. We can carry the multiplication table in the head, but the Golden Rule must be in the heart. Only the power of God can open the deceitful heart of man, and write upon it the law of God, requiring us to love God supremely, and our neighbor as ourselves. But the heart that is yielded to Him will experience this great transformation. G. B. T.
