The Patient Brings His Relatives

BY MRS. L. E. DEXTER
I AM kept busy of late, and continually meet with the funny side of life. When a native comes for treatment, as many of his relatives as can come follow him to see and hear what is done and said. They all help listen, so that no mistake may be made in carrying out the directions for treatment. I have had as many as fifteen listeners.
One stout man came in with a sore arm to be treated. At the elbow there was a large swelling, with several raw, tubercular looking sores. I pointed to a half-used cigarette he had, and told him he must stop the use of tobacco for one thing, if he wished to be healed.
