An Aged Colporteur’s Prayer

From the China Inland Mission there comes the story of one of our colporteurs, seventy-two years old, who, just before he started on a long tour, was overheard praying: “Prepare men’s hearts to receive the Word. Help me to give my testimony. Don’t let conceited men argue with me. Don’t let the books get wet. Show me how to get over the swollen rivers. Don’t let the dogs bite me. Take care of my wife.” It is said that never in all this man’s travels has he been once molested.
