“Amen”

“AMEN,” or “So let it be,” is a responsive utterance to confirm what has been said. It is of ancient origin. Deut. 27: 15-26. “And all the people said, Amen, and praised the Lord.” 1 Chron. 16: 36. The response is seldom heard in the churches of to-day, except from the pulpit. A reverential “Amen” from the heart of the sincere worshiper in the congregation is acceptable to God, and adds to the impressiveness of His worship. ELIZA H. MORTON.
