“In Everything Give Thanks”

By Flora E. Warren
*They have not greatest cause for praise Who have smooth paths, and cloudless days. There's cause and core, And even more, In this grand rule, that works all ways — All who have tried it find it pays: “In everything give thanks.”*
*Whoever keeps this rule in mind, In storm or calm, will surely find In every road, For every load, Christ is your Helper, true and kind, Strengthens the weary, leads the blind. “In everything give thanks.”*
*We keep so busy day and night, With selfish murmuring, we quite Forget that praise Is due always, For much we count as ours by right. Give God His due, and with your might “In everything give thanks.”*
*He who gave us this rule to keep, Will help us know its blessings deep. Who will each day This rule obey? Remember, there's no time to sleep; For what men sow, they also reap, “In everything give thanks.”*
