Eugene’s Growth After Prohibition

C. T. WHITTLESA Y, of Eugene, Oregon, says: “There were 150 vacant dwellings in Eugene when the city voted dry. Several hundred have since been built, and there are not more than twenty-five vacant buildings in the city at the present time. The tax rate is ten mills, the same as when the town was wet. Several hundred thousand dollars has been spent in street improvements and buildings. The city has doubled in population in the three years that it has been dry.”
