Bones of the Long Ago

A CARLOAD of fossils have recently been taken to the American Museum from the Red River Canyon of Alberta. It is stated that perfect skeletons have been found of some animals of which previously only pieces had been discovered.

The evolutionists assure us that these animals lived some three million years ago. According to the theories of evolution, the animal life began upon this earth in a very small way, and as time went on, animals increased in size and perfection. But the theory does not seem to be in harmony with the facts; for the bones of many of these animals that are found, indicate that animals living on this planet in the past were very much larger than those existing at the present time.

Evolution seems to have things reversed. Any one who will stop to think for himself in regard to the matter, ought to see, anyway, that all that the evolutionist has to present to us is mere theories and speculations. The evolutionist takes the facts of geology, and spins us out a theory, trying to have us believe that after he examines a bone and looks wise, he can tell us with all assurance that the animal originally possessing it lived on this earth three million years ago.

But the Bible story is that something over four thousand years ago, there was a flood upon this earth that covered the entire face of it; and all the animals and men, together with all the vegetation of that time, were swept beneath the waters. As the flood was subsiding, a mighty wind passed over the earth, to assist in drying it up. Vegetation, along with the remains of animals, was buried in heaps in all parts of the world.

Everybody admits that our coal is of vegetable formation, and the heaps of animal bones that are found in various parts of the world are those that were buried there immediately following the flood. All the facts in the world are in perfect harmony with the Bible story. But the evolutionist can not be content. He must evolve a theory that reaches back millions of years into the past. The Bible story is not only the most consistent thing, but it is far the easiest to believe. It remains ever the same, but the theories of evolutionists have to be continually shifted.

The most advanced teachers of the time are discarding the theories of Darwin, saying that they can not be made to harmonize with the facts. It would be a very wise thing if all the rest of those vague theories were discarded, and men settled down to believe the simple, straightforward Bible narrative. That harmonizes with the facts in every particular, and it does not need to be changed to meet every shifting wind. Divine wisdom prepared it.
