Balkan Troubles and European War

The latest despatches say that complete anarchy reigns in Albania. Essed Pasha has raised the Austrian flag, and Mufid Bey has called upon the governor at Alvona to surrender him. The minister also has seized the custom-house at Durazzo. These Balkan troubles seem to have become absolutely chronic. Will they continue, as many fear, until all Europe will be embroiled in war? This is a question that may cause much anxiety to those who are looking only to this world and to human efforts for their peace and prosperity.
