Dancing Schools in the Church

The despatches tell of a minister in New York who has decided that his church will teach dancing, “omitting tango and the rag.” It is a rather sorry state of affairs in a community, when a preacher claiming to be a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ can be persuaded that he may improve the spirituality and the morals of his flock by conducting a dancing-school in connection with his church. Such a thing is certainly very much out of harmony with the spirit and purpose of the gospel of Christ.
