The King Is Coming Soon

By Worthie Harris Holden

By WORTHIE HARRIS HOLDEN
SPEED, ye heralds of the sky! Zion wake! Her Lord is nigh! Cry aloud through Sodom's plain, Urge the mountain merchant-train, Stir each vale and moor and dune, “Christ, the King, is coming soon!”
Linger not, for death awaits. Angels urge thee from thy gates. Look not back or lose the prize Waiting thee in yonder skies. Warn the exiles far and near, “Christ, the Judge, will soon appear!”
Fling away what bars thy speed. Tarry not in hill or mead. Blow the trumpet, sound alarm: “Every warrior, fully arm!” Choose Jehovah's brave array Or the doom of Judgment-day!”
