Witnesses, Not Champions

Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses.” Only that? But who shall meet the blatant infidel, the scoffing atheist, the fallacies of the agnostic? Why, dear soul, did you not know that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church of the living God? and that not because of sharp-witted defenders, but because of witnesses armed with a positive testimony? Human life is often decided by a lawyer's argument; but truth lives by the testimony of its witnesses. Don't fear for Christian polemics, but fear lest you fail of the power of the Holy Ghost. “Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses.”
