The Sabbath

By F. Adelia Reynolds

F. Adelia Reynolds
Holy Sabbath! Day of rest! By our great Creator blessed! Sweet its quiet hours of peace, Types of Sabbath ne'er to cease!
He who made the earth and sea, Who created you and me, Who devised salvation's plan— He the Sabbath made for man.
“Call the Sabbath a delight,” Spend its precious moments right, Then shalt prosper, He hath spoken— He whose word can ne'er be broken.
Lord, we thank Thee, and adore Thy rich mercy more and more, Make our Sabbaths a delight, Rightly spent, as in Thy sight.
