The Christian Life

THE Christian is represented as dead to sin, but alive to God. He is freed, or justified, from sin. Sin does not have dominion over him. He owes no allegiance to sin, for sin has no claims upon him.
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has released him from the law of sin and death. His treasure and affections are above, and therefore beyond the danger zone. That which he holds most dear, bad men could not use, and so he has no fear of what robbers can do. The fires cannot burn his riches up, nor can any kind of desolation do damage to them.
The reader will do well to investigate these assets, and transfer all that seems most dear, so that his possessions may be safe in the bank of life.
WILLIAM COVERT.
