Are You Ready for the Judgment-Day?

By Pauline Alney-Anderson
“For we shall all stand before the judgment-seat of Christ.” Rom. 14:10.
When the Book of Life is opened, And the Judge shall scan with care All the pages of its record, Will He find our poor names there? Will our sins have all been pardoned, Every stain be washed away? Will He find us ready, waiting, On the last great judgment-day?

CHORUS

Are you ready for the judgment-day to come? Are you ready for the judgment-day to come? Are your robes all spotless white, And your lamps all burning bright? Are you ready for the judgment-day?
O, the awful, solemn moment When before the Judge we stand! Will we be accounted worthy Of a place at His right hand? Or will we, when life is over, And probation passed for ay, Find that we are weighed and wanting, On the last great judgment-day?
Let us, then, be up and doing, Send the tidings far and near That the day dawn is approaching And the Judge will soon appear. When His trumpet shakes the heavens, And the earth shall pass away, May we find in Him a refuge On the last great judgment-day?

CHORUS

O, be ready, for the judgment-day is near! O, be ready, for the judgment-day is near! Keep your robes all spotless white, And your lamps all burning bright, Waiting, ready, for the judgment-day.
