A Prayer

By Mrs. M. C. Sellers
Heavenly Father, Power divine, We would pray, Thine ear incline; We would Thy commands obey, Walking in the narrow way.
Much we need Thy mighty power; Now, in this last closing hour, Thou art willing to bestow More than we can ask or know.
Give, we pray, Thy mighty power, Longed for, looked for every hour. Satan's ways are manifold; Mighty workings we behold.
Thou didst say, “Cast devils out; Put the hosts of sin to rout;” To Thy servants gave command, “Heal the sick on every hand.”
Yet how weak, how helpless we,— All unable, without Thee. See! The hour is growing late! Ripened harvest can not wait.
Grains are falling day by day, Passing, passing down for aye. Silver we have not, nor gold; Give as Thou didst give of old.
