Missing from the Father’s Fold
“Missing.”—Mr. John A. McCarthy, a wealthy New York broker, is sending out a photo of his daughter, Miss Helen McCarthy, throughout all the country. She was missing from home June 24, which she left to go shopping, wearing a pink linen dress, black velvet belt, blue straw hat, black silk stockings, black laced shoes, and has dark brown hair which was tied with a ribbon. It is believed that she has been kidnapped and is being held a prisoner. Her age is sixteen, altho she looks younger. There is no doubt but that the daily press will largely reproduce the photograph. A mighty effort will be made to find the lost child, and yet—and yet—there are thousands, nay, millions of girls throughout the United States and the world who are still missing from the Father's fold, which He is training for a greater inheritance than Mr. John A. McCarthy can ever give; and going on as they are at the present time, they will be missing in the last great day when the Lord Jesus shall gather His jewels. We sympathize with the father and the mother. We hope they may find their daughter; but our heart goes out in great sympathy for those whose children are wandering in the by-paths of sin.
