The World's Christian Citizenship Conference

Four governments extended welcome to the World's Christian Citizenship Conference, according to the Portland Oregonian, of June 30, namely, the United States, Oregon, the county of Multnomah, and the city of Portland. Judge C. E. Wolverton, of the United States Court of the Oregon District, represented the United States. He "traced the development of the idea of religious liberty to its highest state under the free institutions of America." He did not know, as many of the propagandists do not know, that the conference which he welcomed is working to undermine religious liberty. Why did the federal government extend welcome to an organization which had its genesis in Pennsylvania, has been promoted in America, and is officered by American National Reformers? How many governments are represented there? There may in all probability be speakers there from other lands, but this does not make it less a conference of this land.
