Prayer Brings Rain in Belleville

The churches in Belleville, Illinois, prayed for rain June 22, and an hour after, heavy rain fell, breaking a two months’ drought. Some will not believe that the rain came in answer to prayer. And it may have been true in the case that the rain would have come anyhow. Let that be as it may; God hears prayer. God closed the heavens for three and one half years because one man prayed. God opened the heavens and gave rain because one man prayed. God has told His people to pray for rain. See 1 Kings 18:41-45; James 5:17, 18; 1 Kings 8:35, 36. The same God waits to pour out the spiritual “latter rain” in response to faith and prayer.
