The Craze for Money

The craze for money in this time has driven men to the place where all they can see in a fellow being is the opportunity he affords to get money out of him. His base appetites and passions are cultivated, regardless of depravity and eternal ruin, all for the purpose of creating a market for commodities out of which money is to be made. This is the general rule in the world, and the exceptions are greatly in the minority. And yet men will tell us, regardless of these facts, that the world is getting better, and that we are about to have a millennium of righteousness.
