Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost

THAT single yet important work of the Holy Ghost is so sadly misunderstood. So simplified is it that all can share its influence; so important that all should earnestly seek its association. To one class it is said, “Quench not the Spirit.” 1 Thess. 5:19. We should drink deep of it, that our whole being may be permeated, as the leaven that leaveneth the whole lump. So will we develop such characters as will serve to draw men to God.
To the other class it is said, “Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God.” Eph. 4:30. Cut the wire between you and God, and there is no communion; drive away or insult the Holy Spirit if you will, and you have no hearing in the courts of heaven. This continued to its ultimate is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. It is dangerous ground; keep off.
