California’s Agricultural Soil Survey

The University of California is doing an excellent thing in the new journal which it has started, called “The University of California Journal of Agriculture.” It will give a soil survey of California’s farming resources, and the maps that it will furnish will be on a scale of four miles to the inch. The soil series will be indicated, and accompanying reports will describe the soil—natural conditions, good and bad features, best treatment and use, etc. This certainly ought to be appreciated by the farmers.
