Time Waiteth for No Man

By N. D. Anderson
Ah, brother, the day breaketh calm and clear, With song of birds and blossoming flowers' cheer; It is that time when wise men sow their grain— Despise it not, it will not come again.
And when at noon the sun rides bright and high, With splendor clothing earth and sea and sky, Then is the time thy growing vines to train— Despise it not, it will not come again.
Soon shall the harvest ripen, and the night With darkest shadows fill the valleys bright; There is yet time, ere yet the twilight wane— Despise it not, it will not come again.
