Success

By Flora E. Warren
JUST to sense my nothingness; Just to know God's power to bless; Just to yield to Him my will; Just to trust Him, and “be still,”— This is grand success!
I would be as potter’s clay, Molded by Him day by day; I would let God fashion me As He wills—for He can see My need of success.
If I let God hold my hand, And obey His least command, Doubting not, tho the winds are wild; Heeding His “Fear not, My child,”— This is real success!
I would know Love’s Pattern true; Follow Him in all I do; Trust His wondrous love and pow’r; Learn of Him each day—each hour, How He gained success.
He, the Christ of Calvary, Lived the sinless life, and free; Died that all might live to be With Him through eternity Sharing His success.
All the greatest deeds of men Seeking fame by voice or pen, All the glories of each land, Are like bubbles in the hand, Not the true success.
O ye strivers after gain, Heed, O heed Love’s counsel plain; Seek not fleeting wealth or fame, Make eternal wealth your aim, Then you’ll have success.
