A Dog’s Brain for a Man

A gentleman from Kalamazoo, Michigan, had been suffering from an abscess of the brain, and was taken to the hospital of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. The surgeons there, as a last resort, cut away the diseased portion of the man's brain, and inserted instead a part of the brain of a dog. The patient is said to be doing well, and the prospect for his recovery is good. If there can be a choice of brains for such purposes, it is quite probable that some people would prefer other animals above the dog.
