The Waning Crescent and Muslim Unity

The proclamation of a holy war in Mohammedan countries, the unfurling of the sacred green banner, the opening of the prophet’s sacred tomb at Mecca, are supposed to be a call for every Moslem to spring to arms. But the old unity of the ranks of the Moslem is broken, and there are many who do not hold to the Turks as the head of Islamism. It is a serious question among Mohammedans as to whether such a call would be effective. In the meantime the Crescent wanes.
