Preventing Contagion in Schools

Look out for contagious diseases in the school. The tongue-licked or spittle-cleaned slate, the common roller towel, and the universal drinking cup are rapidly going. Let them go. But the exchanging of handkerchiefs, the dividing of chewing-gum, the borrowing of tongue-moistened pencils, the enthusiastic kissers, are still with the schools. Eliminate these, and there will be a falling off in cases of diphtheria and scarlet fever. Parents and teachers should look to this.
