Your World

YOUR world is a reflex of you. Men talk about “the world” as if it were a single entity, while in fact every individual lives in a different world from that of every other individual. What one finds in his world is due not to outside facts, but to the choices he makes within. Mr. Moody once portrayed the absurdity of the man who would paint his pump in order to improve the quality of the well-water. One whose world seems to be a sad misfit for him, insists that the world outside be put into better order. What he really needs is to get himself into a different condition within, learn to relate himself positively to the best things he can find, and let them make up his world.—Selected.
