Presbyterians on Infant Election

Our Presbyterian brethren, whenever they meet, usually seem to have to discuss the question of infant election. In their recent assembly in Atlanta they decided again, by a vote of 135 to 44, that “all infants dying in infancy are elect.” We wonder what difference that vote actually makes with such matters. If the Bible fully informs us in regard to such questions, the only thing necessary is to study the Bible text. If it does not inform us, why should we say anything upon the subject at all? In religious questions, we do not need creeds, but we do need to understand and know the divine Book.
