O, My Heart It Longs!

By George Willard
O, my heart it longs for a life that is free From sickness and death and sin. O, my heart it cries for a better land Where no sorrows can enter in.
While storms and wrecks and perilous times And trouble and strife increase, There comes a cry from the worldly-wise— A cry of safety and peace.
The nations are angry, the world is mad, Truth is sold in the world's great mart; Soon Jesus will come to redeem His own, The faithful and pure in heart.
O, Master, come and Thy work cut short, For the cry of the poor and oppressed, The sigh of the sorrowed, the moan of the sick,— They all beg for peace and for rest.
