Ten-Hour Law for Women Unconstitutional

Judge Tuthill, of Chicago, has decided that the state law limiting the hours of women in factories to ten is unconstitutional. He said, “This law seeks to prohibit her from working more than ten hours a day if she wishes to, and I think in that respect it deprives her of the right to exercise the right of contract which is given her by the Constitution.”
