The Christian’s Field

THE Christian truth is not, “America for Americans,” nor “England for the English,” but, “The field is the world.” John Wesley, we think it was, said, “The world is my parish.” To all the world is the Christian sent forth, “debtor both to the Greeks, and to the barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise,” by virtue of the great fact that Christ has purchased all men with His own life. He who acknowledges Christ’s ownership and leadership, will count himself, asdid Paul, “debtor” to all; and he will count all men the purchase of Christ’s blood. He will hate their sins, but he will love and endeavor to save their souls.
