What Shall I Do?

TELL me what is the duty of an old-fashioned Congregationalist? What is he to do in this day of new lights, when your pastor does not consider baptism of any importance, and the Lord’s Supper has nothing in it for him, but he can give it to the church if they want it, and he never preaches salvation through repentance and faith in Christ, but holds up good works? Shall we, if the church fills the pulpit with that kind of service, continue with them, or shall we withdraw and pay our money to some church where the old-time religion is taught? I wish you would say something on this point that would benefit many in my fix. —Illinois Layman, in “The Advance” (Congregationalist paper).
