Heathen Ceylon.— It is true still, as Bishop Heber says, that “tho the spicy breezes blow soft o’er Ceylon’s isle,” men still are vile. The devil-worshiping type of Buddhism still dominates the lovely island. There are over nine thousand villages unreached by any missionary agency. What a call this is for Christian benevolence.
