California School Law for 1909

We have received from Mr. Edward Hyatt, Superintendent of Public Instruction, “The School Law of California for 1909,” and this also is a valuable compilation. About 50 changes and additions were made to the school law by the last legislature—more than at any time within recent years. It certainly was time that a new edition of the School Law should be issued; and this has been put in presentable shape in a new and attractive cover, with an original design, and a large edition of 20,000 copies has been issued so as to supply county superintendents, school clerks in the various counties, and for others who may be interested in school laws. It includes, of course, the anti-fraternity law, found on page 50; law authorizing trustees to provide for transportation of pupils within certain limits; law forbidding principals, teachers, or school officers to cause children to purchase any supplementary book or books. It is a valuable compilation.
