The Call

By Henrietta Edgar

“Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel.” Mark 16:15.
The harvest-field is waiting; O, come with sickles bright, Nor tarry not nor linger, But work with all thy might.
The evening shadows gather; The night will soon be here; The harvest call is sounding; O, come from far and near.
The precious grain is falling; O, tarry not nor wait, But haste with eager footsteps, For soon, ’twill be too late.
